Billie Mitchell

Lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico

The artist: Billie Mitchell is a long-time visual artist and cinematographer.  Over the past five years his work has been included in Currents New Media Festival in Santa Fe. Many of Mitchell’s previous pieces have been about engaging with participants, and having individuals be the art.

About the art: Walk into “2U” and see yourself in an interactive altered reality, and if you like, receive a picture of yourself too. “2U” was conceived to allow participants to be actors in an altered reality.  The installation provides image capture capability to share with participants via social media. The imagery of people is manipulated as they enter space and naturally people interact, perform, play and smile, becoming part of the art.
